Biblical Text: 24 And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid. 25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet: 26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. 27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. 28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs. 29 And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter. 30 And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed. Mark 7:24-30 KJV
In the text we find a mother in desperation for someone or something to intervene and spare the life of her possessed child. In her state of desperation, the woman hears about a man named Jesus who is traveling through the town. Just on hear say, the woman has faith enough to believe that if she could get into Jesus' presence, the life of her child would be saved.
The woman made her way into the presence of Jesus, fell at His feet, and began to humbly petition Jesus to deliver her child. Jesus' initial response was not to answer the woman's request. But this mother was determined, she was on a mission, and did not want to leave with her needs being met. She kept her faith and continued to believe in the healing Jesus could provide.
The beauty of this scripture is that this woman sought after Jesus, made her way into His presence, remained in His presence, had her needs met, and walked away believing.
No matter what you stand in need of at this very moment, seek the presence of God. In His presence the answers you are seeking may not come right away but don't allow that to become an excuse to lose hope. Remain in God's presence! Pray there! Trust there! Cry out there! In His presence you'll find, unspeakable joy, an abundance of love, answers, protection, peace, and everything else you need.
The wait may seem unbearable but I encourage you to keep on believing. Believe that each day as you walk the path set before you, you are one step closer to the manifestation of God's promise in your life.
